Addis Abeba: It has already become a tradition for few years now that the Bosco children celebrate their b'day on the Feast of Immaculate Conception on Dec. 8.
It is done always in commemoration of thebeginning of the first oratory on Dec. 8 1841 when Don Bosco met the poor urchin boy Barthalomeo Garelli. This year too, it was celebrated with great joy and enthusiasm as the 85 boys of the Bosco Children found themselves being wished by everyone who visited the center on this day "Happy B'day". The celebrations began at 1.30 pm in the presence of the Provincial Vicar Abba Isidoro, Provincial Economer Abba Mario and all the fathers, brothers and well-wishers of the Bosco Children center. As it was also the Ethiopian Cultural Day, some of the children also dressed themselves in the traditional tribal costumes. It was certainly a memorable day for the kids of Bosco Children.
