Adigrat: The week-long retreat in Adigrat came to a beautiful conclusion on 03 July 2016 with the Holy Eucharist presided over by the provincial of AET, Rev. Fr. Estifanos Gebremeskel. The retreat in Adigrat was the second one in the series after the one of Mojjo which was preached by Fr. Joseph Pulickal from Sudan. There were about 36 participants for the retreat in Adigrat, which comprised of 14 students of Philosophy and all the rest made up of confreres from the various communities of the province. Makelle: Don Bosco Technical College of Mekelle had the joy of the graduation of about 117 trainees of whom 41 majoring in Machining technology, 42 in Automotive power train, and 34 in Automotive Engine services in this academic year 2015/16(2008 E.c). Among them there are 25 students were females. In addition to these, about 125 trainees were graduated in short term training program such as Secretarial science (25), Automotive Engine Services (25), and Welding& basic metal works (75).

Debrezeit: It was indeed a great day of joy and achievement for the community of Debrezeit as 21 students of the informal course in hairdressing had their graduation on June 5, 2016. Seemingly all the students were extremely happy to have done this course at Don Bosco Debrezeit and were grateful for the wonderful opportunity that was offered for them at the center. The presence of the Provincial of AET, Abba Estifanos Gebremeskel certainly added a special color to the whole ceremony. Rome: In 1877 Don Bosco thought about printing a publication that was destined to last over time. “It has been decided to print a Bulletin which will be like a newspaper of the Congregation, because there are many things to be communicated. It will be a regular bulletin, a link between Cooperators and Salesians.” Following in the footsteps of the founder, the directors of the Salesian Bulletin around the world participated in a special meeting which concluded in the presence of the Rector Major Fr Ángel Fernández Artime, and the Councillor for social communication, Fr Filiberto Gonzalez. Adigrat: “We are responsible for the care of our common home… we can’t be deaf to the cry of our Mother Earth”. These were the uppermost thoughts in the mind of everyone who participated in the Workshop on Laudato Si’, the recently published Encyclical of Pope Francis on the care for our common home. The workshop was held on 7th May, 2016 at the Holy Savior Cathedral hall, organized by the Catholic Major Seminary of Adigrat under the patronage of Abuna Tesfaselassie Medhin. The Workshop saw the vibrant involvement of more than 100 participants from different walks of life. There were school teachers, office workers, people from government departments, religious and diocesan clergy, seminarians, sisters and many laymen. The day began at 9am in the morning with a prayer song, “Brother Sun, Sister Moon” which invited everyone to contemplate on the beauty of creation and to be attuned to the voice of the creator. Later Abba Bahlibi Kassa introduced the workshop, making also a brief presentation of the speakers who were hailing from two different congregations and are currently professors of Philosophy at the Major Seminary of Adigrat.
